Witch, Open Your Eyes Chapter 57: Fourth night Part Eight

A scream came from the stairs entrance, followed by the sound of frantic running.

Li Sinian and Fang Daichuan stood side by side at the stairs entrance, staring there, guarding against possible situations.

“It’s on fire! It’s on fire! … Help!” Niu Xinyan sprang out from the bottom of the stairs, out of breath, screaming as she ran.
She was running while gripping her nightgown, her feet were muddy, her calf was soaked by the rain and mud, her expression was terrified and helpless, she looked like she was on the verge of collapse.

Fang Daichuan and Li Sinian glanced at each other, there was a muffled thunder outside the window.
At that moment, Li Sinian suddenly realised what might have happened.
He shot up and ran towards the small room at the end of the corridor.

Niu Xinyan’s foot slipped on the last step and she fell down in front of him.
Fang Daichuan was shocked and reflexively gave her a hand.
Through the thin silk nightgown, he noticed that Niu Xinyan’s heart was beating extremely fast and the tear stains under her eyes were extremely noticeable.

Niu Xinyan’s foot that slipped on the stairs was her left foot, it was swollen; her whole left foot was too limp to exert any strength.

Li Sinian clicked his tongue and lifted Niu Xinyan by the waist.
Niu Xinyan stomped her legs on his shoulders, her shoes stepped on Li Sinian’s side face and fell to the ground. Can’t reason with crazy, Li Sinian endured the pain and carried her on his shoulders.

“Get out of the way!” Fang Daichuan waved his hand, gesturing Li Sinian to step back, clenched his fists and kicked the metal door.

Niu Xinyan reacted and struggled slightly less.
She bit the fabric on Li Sinian’s waist and sobbing, her voice seemed like it came from hell.

“I can’t lose him again, sob…I can’t…” Niu Xinyan’s eyes were dull, she lay down on Li Sinian.

“Bang——” There was a loud noise, Fang Daichuan withdrew his legs, the metal door swayed twice, then remained motionless.

(T/N : I check this sentence [他随手把呜咽着的牛心妍扔到一边; Tā suíshǒu bà wūyèzhe de niú xīn yán rēng dào yībiān] many times and it is ‘casually threw’ or ‘conveniently flung’ and I have to stop translating because I snickering so hard.
Sinian just ‘casually threw’ someone that he was carrying because Chuan’er got hurt.
Love both of them.)

The curtain covered Niu Xinyan’s head.

The curtain rod is made of plastic, but there is a layer of hollow stainless steel pipe in the middle.
Li Sinian pried open one end and leaned the other end on the ground.
When he stepped on it, the plastic skin on the outside peeled off, revealing the strong steel pipe inside.

“Step aside!”

Fang Daichuan obediently stepped aside, seeing Li Sinian widen the hole that he already made before with a steel pipe, revealing the billowing smoke and the weak cry of the child.

Yang Song was slightly nervous as she walked in quickly, leaving Li Si Nian’s gaze behind her.

Yet the human fear of darkness always dissipates with the sound of sea birds.

With this in mind, Yang Song pushed back his inner turmoil and went into Niu Xinyan’s room.

(T/N : I have googled a lot of things but when I check the consistency for this chapter apparently there is a ball bearing hinges and butt hinges so…erm, alright you probably don’t want to know…  (´･_･`)

Anyway *cough* just trying to lighten the mood, just a head up, the child abuse part is approaching and next chapter is kind of unsettling, in my humble opinion so…)
