It was my tenth birthday, at birthdays everyone was supposed to enjoy and relax but even on that day, I was cleaning the house. Relatives and cousins are going to come today for the party. Our cousins came a little bit earlier than expected when they saw me cleaning the house all by myself and my siblings were not even trying to do anything besides laying down for rest, making them doubt why I was the only one who was working, my mother replied to them that Its nothing unusual. She was trying to not show how cold-hearted She was towards me.

Its because I was a girl child. It is the excuse she gave to others

My mother Linda said ”You don need to worry she is a girl so she needs to take for matters such as cleaning, washing, and more household chores ”

I shake it off despite knowing that my younger sister is a girl too and my older brother is a boy.

Only Iannae was the one who got compared due to her gender. She accepted her mothers deed at that time and thought that her mother was right and that maybe She is a girl who needs to take care of everything around herself while the younger and old siblings can enjoy themselves. At last, She could not even get the cake.

.By the fact that my stepmother could not get my fathers attention, and recently, Its made her annoyed…… thats when I got my first slap mark on my cheek. She hit me so hard that It makes my eardrum numb for a moment. I was scared my whole body was shaking in fear at that time.. . I wish I could forget this night of violence.

25th December

I am 14 years old now. A festival happened to come at that time of the month. Its a kind of great festival that everyone celebrates. I was happy that my father came home on time but he said that he does not have any money to spend on us. I do not care about how much he is going to spend because every time there is nothing I get neither a gift nor clothes.

Everything was quite fine till midnight.

After, past midnight. There was a big fuss downstairs to be exact it was a fight between my mother and father. Linda got annoyed to know that he has been here without anything

All the kids including the maids only son too. We are a total of four in number. When we heard the noise of a glass vase breaking we all rushed downstairs.

She continued Anyhow? They both got relaxed through the maid but Linda could not hold her rage inside anymore.

It was I, who broke the silence by asking for food from the maid. It was already past midnight and everyone had already eaten something except me. Food had been provided at once only for me, which was at the end of the day. Linda went to the kitchen while I was washing my hands in the washbasin and then she threw a whole bowl of hot soup on my face. Yes, My face which leads to light burns my face moderately. No one dares to come up for help, not even my father. My brother was trying to stop Linda somehow so that she wouldn harm me any further. My body got stiff and I was scared. I was so afraid to the point that questions began to flood my mind. What if my brother couldn stop Linda? To what extent will she drag me? What could have happened to me?. . Would I still be surviving?

My whole appearance becomes messy . . .My face may have gotten burnt due to the soup. It felt prickly all over my whole body but I couldn gather the courage to raise my body and put on some ornaments or medication for my wounds. Just like a pathetically broken metal doll that can be fixed now. Thanks to my little divine energy my slightly burnt skin never caused me much problem. I wonder What shall I be thankful or regretful about my divinity?

Divinity. . What is Ms. Iannae talking about? She is a necromancer then what it has to do with divinity Ryan said inside his mind.

Samantha was so engaged in elaborating on Ryan about Iannaes past that She forgot that Iannaes ability was different from hers.

One year has already passed. Iannaes condition becomes worse day by day her only support got expelled through the family. He falls into the trap of the younger daughter of Linda who she always held dearly.

Iannae truly did not hate her brother Haiman because he was her only support. Later He also got tricked by his mothers favorite younger child Katina and got thrown out of the house. It was the first time Linda hugged Iannae and whispered to her that. . . .

”Iannae please don leave me, I sometimes get angry but I am not a bad person. . .You are not allowed to leave me until you die ”

Tears began to fill her eyes but she held them in, not to show Linda How much Iannae liked Lindas hug rather than her brother. . . Iannae cried all night because now she has no hope. She got stuck in Lindas traps and can escape now. She knew well than anyone else Linda and Katina are going to torture Iannae forever thats what she was most afraid off. . . .

”Next day, due to stress and lack of sleep a crockery slipped out of my hand, ” Iannae said to Ryan who was listening . . . ” Linda slapped me as hard as she could and I froze due to my fear for her. Every single time it happens my body flinches and becomes stiff automatically. Like its already knowing what will be going to happen next in a moment ”

Linda does not assault Iannae by regular or simple beating and torments but physically too She pushes off all the household and outdoor work on Iannaes weak shoulders. along with that disturbing behavior of Linda considering her terrible personality which causes Iannae to develop a disease in which Muttering and speaking random sentences out loud could be a sign of schizophrenia. when she was going through major transitions in her life due to Linda. Schizophrenia affects her due to her lack of confidence and fear.

Zig ..zig. . . (sound of washing clothes through .)

Iannae is washing clothes inside the laundry room. . Iannae got the news that today is the day when a high-ranking Nobel boy is considered to be Iannaes brother-in-law. A boy came earlier this morning to ask for Katinas hand in marriage thats what Iannae heard from another servant while pouring washing soda on clothes. For today Iannae is banned from visiting the garden and main excess to the palace of Lindas house. Iannae has been inside the warehouse since morning which she needs to make clean and tidy before the guests arrive.

There are some footsteps hearts of someone behind Iannae when she turns her head its a boy coming inside the laundry room.
