PSP Chapter 18: Cruel

All the people present were pretty sure that Chen Ge was the youngest.
He had still been in college when he was dragged into the game.
That age was when his wish for justice was overwhelming.

That scumbag! He already knew he was scum, but he hadn’t expected that he’d be so scummy! He cheated a young girl–forget apologizing, didn’t he know that he should’ve given her substantial compensation?

And yet, in reality, he gave her neither an apology nor any money!

Also, the scumbag’s wife.
If her man cheated, she should’ve scolded him and fucked him up a little.
Bullying a little girl certainly wasn’t right, and even getting her expelled? And pretending to have the moral high ground–since she wanted so badly to protect her husband, why didn’t she help her man compensate his victims?

Oh, and those parents! He couldn't believe that, in this world, there were actually parents who would sell their daughters! Shouldn't parents be concerned that their daughters wouldn’t marry well, rather than selling them for money?

As for those classmates, how was it any of their business? Wagging their tongues all day long, were they all reincarnations of long-tongued women¹?

In short, Qi Mei was really pitiful and unfortunate.
Any one of these things was already enough to make someone collapse.
As a result, Qi Mei met, and later clashed with Liu Wangyu and the others.

Seeing Liu Wangyu pushing his wheelchair in, Chen Ge opened his mouth, “You, do you even have a conscience?!”

Liu Wangyu had just been finding someone to clean up the corpse outside the door, and was met with an accusation as soon as he came in.
He glanced at Liu Zimei's black book; knowing that everyone knew about the relationship between him and Qi Mei now, he said with a cold snort, “I don't have a conscience? A slut is a slut, didn’t I deal with her cleanly enough?”

Suddenly, there was a gust of wind in the room, making the curtains billow out, and many bottles and jars fell to the ground with a bang.
The door slammed.

“Hah, I was almost scared to death.” Chen Ge patted his chest.
He had thought that the door of Room 607 had closed, but fortunately he was wrong.
He asked carefully, “Is Qi Mei back?”

Meng Tianhai went to the window to check and found that the window was open, and the wind stopped when he closed it.

Zhou An’an glanced at Liu Wangyu in disgust, and said, “Qi Mei is already dead, I advise you to accumulate some virtue².”

Liu Wangyu's face froze as he realized where he was.
He was now without the protection of the Jade Buddha, and it was much too dangerous to stay here.
“Didn't you want to know about Qi Mei? Let’s leave and talk about it somewhere else.”

In the corridor, Lu Qi glanced at the rusted security door opposite to Room 607 and asked Shen Qingcheng, “What were you looking at that day?”

When they came to Room 607 last time, everyone was paying attention to the bleeding keyhole.
Only Shen Qingcheng was staring at Room 606, opposite Room 607.

Shen Qingcheng happened to already be thinking about that, and when Lu Qi mentioned it, he remembered it and said, “I was looking at the people living inside.”

Lu Qi: “Did you see it?”

Shen Qingcheng raised his head with a strange look in his eyes, and said, “How am I supposed to see anything when it’s blocked by a door?”

Lu Qi: “I saw it.”

Shen Qingcheng: “!!!” There was really such a strange man in the world, with eyes that were actually more powerful than his yinyang eyes!

Immediately, he cheered up, “Lu-dage, don't leave, tell me how you saw it, and who lives there?”

When he wanted something, he was Lu-dage; when he didn’t want anything, he was just a distant relative.

After returning to the apartment, everyone gathered in the hall.
Liu Wangyu, who had kept saying that he wanted to tell them about Qi Mei ten minutes ago, seemed to have lost his memory and didn't say a word.

Everyone had expected it, and the only reason why they had left according to his wishes was because the key was with them now, and they could go back at any time.

But what made the players feel strange was that in the past, Liu Wangyu had always avoided them.
Unless necessary, he would never dally in front of them.
Today, they had no requests for him, but he refused to leave.

Those who were close to Shen Qingcheng had guessed the reason: they were probably regarded as substitutes for the jade Buddha.

Everyone ignored Liu Wangyu and continued perusing the account.

When Qi Mei found out that she was pregnant, it seemed like she had found new direction in her life, and she began to cheer up.
She first moved to a place where no one knew her.
Before her belly got too big, she worked hard every day and took many part-time jobs in preparation for her upcoming birth, saving her money for her child.

When Qi Anle was born, she moved to a new place with the money she saved and the compensation from the school from when she had been expelled.
She came to Xingxing Kindergarten.

Taking care of a child was a very hard job, especially when it came to newborn babies who didn’t know anything about the world yet.
Every day, Qi Mei breastfed, changed diapers, and coaxed the child to sleep, but Qi Mei didn’t feel tired at all.

That child had the blood of the person she hated, but she loved him like a treasure and regarded him as her life.

When the child was four months old and no longer needed constant care, Qi Mei found a job as a cleaner and a cook at Xingxing Kindergarten.
This was not the best choice for work, but Xingxing Kindergarten was the best kindergarten in the city, so it was the only choice in her mind.

Qi Mei had been doing her job for two years, two years that felt neither long nor short.
Qi Anle grew up: he could walk along a bench by himself and call his mother inarticulately.

Qi Mei was very pleased, but soon she face another problem.
After Qi Anle entered school, she could not continue to pay the high tuition for kindergarten.

A colleague auntie advised her to switch to an ordinary kindergarten.
After all, it was only a kindergarten, and there was no need to go to the best one.

Qi Mei understood that that was the truth, but she felt that she owed a lot to her children.
Not only was she unable to give Qi Anle a complete family, but she also let him have such a young mother.
She hoped to do her best to compensate Qi Anle.
Because of this, she was stubborn and paranoid about his upbringing.

By coincidence, Qi Mei met Liu Wangyu, which is where the story truly began.

Except for when they fell in love and their IQ declined, most of the time women had very sensitive sixth senses.
Qi Mei quickly realized that Liu Wangyu had those kinds of thoughts about her.

Qi Mei, who had experienced a traumatic experience, had long since given up on love.
For her, the most important thing was Qi Anle.
She just wanted to raise Qi Anle well, so she found a way to hint her meaning to the other party.

Sure enough, Liu Wangyu did not come to her for a while, but the matter did not end there.
When Liu Wangyu reappeared, he brought a condition that Qi Mei could not refuse.

Liu Wangyu said, “You play along with me, and I will help you enter the kindergarten as a teacher, and even let your child go to school here.”

Qi Mei hesitated, but she could not resist the temptation.

Her child was her weakness; she could give up anything for her child, including her dirty body.
After confirming that Liu Wangyu had no girlfriend and was not married, Qi Mei began an illicit relationship with Liu Wangyu.

She traded her body for Liu Wangyu's help.

At first, her son was still young, and it was still more than half a year before he could start school.
Liu Wangyu gave her money or bought milk powder for her child, but she kept making excuses and delaying.

It wasn’t that Qi Mei had no doubts in her heart, but it wasn’t that she was uncertain.
She just didn’t want to lose her dignity with Liu Wangyu and lose the hint of hope she still harbored.

When Qi Anle was old enough to go to school, things could no longer be dragged out.
Qi Mei decided turned against Liu Wangyu, because she had been tricked by Liu Wangyu.
She hadn’t know him well enough–it turned out, she had been sleeping with a dog for the past six months.

In the past few years, Qi Mei had saved enough for Qi Anle's tuition for the first year.
What she thought was that when the child started school and had a teacher to take care of him, she could switch to a job with a higher salary, even if she was a little tired.

On the day it happened,Liu Wangyu had booked a hotel for them.
Qi Mei knew what the other party was thinking, but she went anyway.
This time, she was planning to stop acceding to his requests.

It was not Liu Wangyu who was waiting for Qi Mei in the hotel room.

That man looked much older than Liu Wangyu, like he was in his early forties, with a beer belly and a bald head.
He looked at her with blatant and covetous eyes, like a dog seeing a fleshy bone.

Qi Mei’s heart was full of disgust, but her hate for Liu Wangyu eclipsed that.
He had sold her to another men without telling her!

She immediately left the room and slammed the door, and called Liu Wangyu to interrogate him.

Liu Wangyu said lightly on the other end of the phone, “He is the dean of the kindergarten.
Whether or not you can become a teacher depends on your own hard work.”

Having said this, he smiled ambiguously, hinting at the meaning of the words “hard work”.

“Don't be in a hurry to refuse, he is the dean, don't you want Qi Anle to go to this school?”

She thought, thought harder than anyone else would have, thought until she drove herself into madness.

“Oh, by the way, the director just divorced his wife, so he won’t break your taboo.”

Qi Mei hung up the phone very calmly, and even took out the mirror to touch up her makeup before entering the room.

She pushed the door was pushed open again, and the man inside didn't seem surprised that she had returned.
He sat on the edge of the bed and spread his legs.
“Congratulations in advance for finding a new job, Qi-laoshi.”

She couldn't refuse.

Qi Mei walked to the man and knelt down.

She was dirty, but Lele³ was clean.
Lele would have the best kindergarten, the best elementary school, junior high school, high school, and university.
He deserved the best of everything.

Qi Mei successfully became a teacher at Xingxing Kindergarten.
A month later, she knelt in front of the vice-principal again, in order to get him to agree to Qi Anle's admission.

A year later, Qi Mei's hometown and former college classmate, Zhou Xiaohui, approached her, hoping that she could help find her a job.

This was not difficult for Qi Mei, who had dealings with two men.
She had always remembered that Zhou Xiaohui once informed her that her parents planned to sell her, so she helped Zhou Xiaohui find a job that did not have professional requirements.

That was just a small interlude.

Afterwards, Zou Kai, who was a security guard, found out about Qi Mei, the vice-principal, the dean of education, and Liu Wangyu.
He used this to blackmail Qi Mei into solving his own physiological needs, threatening to tell Qi Anle about it, to tell him that Qi Anle had a slut of a mother.

Zou Kai was not stupid.
If he threatened to expose the matter to the public, the dean alone could make him lose his job, not to mention the vice-principal behind him.

Compared to Qi Mei, the two of them feared having their scandals exposed even more.

So Zou Kai struck for Qi Mei’s lifeblood from the beginning and threatened Qi Anle.
A single mother always cared about her children, right?

He guessed right.
Qi Mei did not dare to gamble, and even accepted it more calmly than he imagined.
Zou Kai simultaneously made use of Qi Mei’s body and secretly cursed that she had been ruined by other men already, and that any man could make Qi Mei open her thighs.

Qi Mei never regretted the choices she made.
What was wrong with using her dirty body for benefits? Despite the incident of Zou Kai, her general trajectory was good.

However, in the end, Qi Mei discovered that, except for Zou Kai, every other man had a wife.
The vice-principal and the dean of education had never had divorces, and Liu Wangyu also had a wife and son.

She had done what she hated again.

The content of the account ended abruptly there.

TLN:

¹ 长舌妇 literally means “long tongued women”, but actual meaning is “gossiper”.

² (积点口德) Basically, he should apply himself to becoming a better person.

³ Lele (乐乐) is an affectionate way of referring to Qi Anle (齐安乐) by repeating one word of his name.
Incidentally, this is my actual first name.

Sorry for going MIA and the late update! Next update will probably be in two weeks, but if I can’t make that it’ll be whatever Monday that I actually finish the chapter by.
