Chapter 2

Quiet, Cold, Dark, Broken, and hopeless; this is all the Orange wolf could feel, he knew he couldn change what had happened those centuries ago.

The Only problem is that he couldn stop blaming himself for what had happened to his friends and family; remembering all of their horrid screams that night still sends shivers down his spine.

Shaking off all of those horrible memories, he knew he wouldn be able to get much sleep, he walks out of his cave and climbs up and abandoned shed just a few miles from there. He looks up into the beautiful stars.

”Mom, Dad, if you guys are looking down on me right now, I just hope Ill get to see the both of you soon. ” He sighs, starting to get emotional,

Just thinking about his parents being next to him right now.

”And I hope I can be the son you guys always wanted me to become. ” Wiping all of the falling tears that were running down his face, as he smiles up at the night sky once again, soon letting out a chuckle.

”I also changed my name; its nothing special or anything; its Ōkami now. ”

He lets out a sigh feeling much better after getting all of his emotions out, as he lets out a few more tears.

After a while, he lays back and continues looking at the sky, before letting out a big sigh. Feeling a bit tired from everything, he slowly closes his eyes before he softly spoke. ”Goodnight Mom, Goodnight Dad. ” After saying those words, he falls into a deep much-needed sleep.

————————————————————————-

Ōkamis eyes slowly open due to the large amount of light shining down onto his face, ”Id better get going, I don want to get caught, especially this early in the morning. ”

The orange wolf says as he hops off the shed and starts making his way back to the woods where his cave is.

Now long after he enters the woods, no noise was to be heard, except for the occasional chirps from nearby birds. Oh how he had earned to hear the sound of laughter and playing like how it had been back when he was just a cub.

He looks up at the sky once again before yelling out, ” How am I supposed to do all of this by myself, dad? I haven got a clue on how to communicate with humans. ” Ōkami lets out all of his anger, not know what he was exactly doing.

”Give me something to work with, something I can practice with. ” Knowing that all this yelling wouldn help anything, he stops and takes a walk through the forest, occasionally jumping in the trees.

Ōkami soon spots a little girl running towards him, and what seems to be her mother chasing after her.

Was this the person his dad wanted him to try and communicate with, he wasn complaining but he was beyond scared of what would happen.

He slowly inches towards the little girl but soon freezes as the little girl jumps up and down, pointing out Ōkamis presence to her mother.

The mother, shocked and confused, knew she couldn argue with her daughter about these things as she nodded and smiled.

But as they slowly make their way to Ōkami, he gets a flashback on what the humans had done to his loved ones, and starts to back away from them.

He didn care if his dad was yelling at him right now; he couldn do this.

The mother took note of this as she spoke, ”you
e afraid of humans. Did they hurt you? ” Ōkami shakes his from side to side as in expressing no.

A series of clicking and chirping noises come from his throat like a whole other language.

He soon points to him and them as in meaning family.

She looks at the animal with a worried expression before sighing.

”Come here; its okay; we won hurt you, alright, ” the mother says again but with a big smile on her face as she holds out her hand, close to his face.

Ōkami, still wary, but allowing this affection, the mother and the little girls hand come in contact with his fluffy orange fur.

Allowing all of this affection, he soon lays down next to the humans as he was satisfied with all that was happening.

—————————————————————————-

The mother and the little girl soon leave as he makes his way back to the shed to look at the sky again. ” hey mom and dad, I did it. Are you proud of me. ” He sighed in relief, remembering the happy event that took place.

”Its sad that I can speak proper English; all that came out was our language. ” He thought for a bit before realizing that he hasn seen any other animals, and that he might be the last of his kind.

”Earlier when I was with those humans, I felt something. Love? Happiness? Felt that I belonged somewhere other than the woods. ”

Curiosity got to the best of him as he made his way to the city; as long as he stayed above ground he wouldn be noticed.

So Ōkami climbed up the wall of one of the buildings, and scanned over the city.

Not noticing that there was a hidden camera right next to him as he continued to look down at the city.

All the people below looked, happy? Like he ad always wanted to be and feel.

Maybe humans and animals were the same, perhaps all we see is the worst versions of ourselves.

Knowing it was time to leave, he quickly climbed down the building and ran back to his cave, silently hoping that no one had noticed him in the city.

Upon entering his cave again, he walks up and lays on a massive Boulder and quickly and effortlessly fell into a deep sleep.

——————————————————————————-

”Excuse me, boss, there were signs of an orange wolf on one of the rooftops near the entrance; it seems the wolf didn notice the camera. ”

A scientist says while looking down at one of his papers, glancing at his boss ever now and again.

A very-well dressed man chuckles as he turns around to look at his scientist ”really, report to my men and tell them to capture it soon, oh! And tell me if its a rare one or not. ” He says turning back around continuing his paperwork scattered on his desk.

”Yes sir, I will do that right now ”
