A light thumping sound echoed in the kitchen.

 The man was cutting meat.

He cut the meat and prepared the vegetables.
Then he would bring out the wine from the cellar.
That was the man’s morning work.

The man stops his hand and suddenly thinks back.

I wondered if my attitude toward the young priest, who spoke very politely, was a little unfriendly.

The man always remembered that the innkeeper had told him to be amiable to the customers.

This village was naturally built in front of a rare dungeon called the Beginner’s Dungeon.
Many young adventurers from the surrounding areas would come here for the dungeon.
They quickly clear the dungeon and leave, never to return.

People call this village the Beginning Village.

In other words, it doesn’t make much sense to be more friendly than necessary.
This is because once the customer leaves, they will not meet again.

The man shook his head lightly.

Still, he doesn’t think the attitude he did earlier is good.

The man wonders why he had acted so curtly.

 The answer came out easily.

That’s because that young man calls him a master.

 He was a little embarrassed.

“…” (Barkeeper)

Exhaling lightly, he starts moving his hands again.

The sound of a kitchen knife echoed in the kitchen.

“I’m just an employee…” (Barkeeper)

The murmurings of the barkeeper and employee faded into the thin air in the kitchen, unheard by anyone.
