Gone too far this Time

Kelly was head over heels for Tyler. The way she spoke to him, the way she looked at him, the way her eyes shimmered when he confessed his love to her, it was obvious for an outsider to know she had fallen for him.

She was in college when they started dating and Tyler was her very first lover. Sharing an intimate relationship for 1 and a half years, she had already decided to spend the rest of her life with him. It seemed so simple to her.

For a 19 year old girl, what else she could have ever wanted. Other than a boyfriend who loved her truly, a happy family that included her Dad and her little sister and a perfect graduation. But universe had its other plans.

The plans which were meant to crushed her faith in men completely. The plans which shattered her happy family. The plans which brought her into the family business.

If Tyler really loved her why was she crying her heart out sitting on the couch of his living room? Why was her body aching with all of the truth that was spilled in front of her? The answer was simple. She was being betrayed by her one and only boyfriend who meant the world to her.

Sitting at the edge of the couch, she wiped her tears, glanced at the girl who was still unclothed but covered with a blanket, and then at her once beloved boyfriend.

It was way more disgusting to know that this has been happening for the past 6 months and she had zero to no idea about the wrong-doings of this man, whom she called her love. She stood up holding the strap of her sling bag, ready to leave the apartment which once she considered home.

”I- I can explain, Kelly.. ” The dark haired man said grabbing the wrist of her with the potential to stop her from leaving but was interrupted miserably by a furious gaze from her as she turned to speak.

”Theres nothing to explain Tyler and theres nothing that you can fix, not after the fact that youve risked our relationship for an act like this! ” Sliding his grip away from her wrist, she left his apartment, the building and from his life.

Of course, Tyler tried shamelessly hard to bring her back to him even after knowing the sins he had commited. He tried reaching her many times but she was gone for good. He knew he had lost the one real thing he ever had. He risked it all just to quench his thirst of lust which cost him to be left alone.

He realized everything as soon as she was out of his sight but there was nothing else he could do but just live with his jar of heart filled with regret and sorrow. Regret of losing his gem. Sorrow of never having her back.

Unfortunately, the destiny had played its card again. There was the dark haired man now with dyed blue hair. The kind of blue that resembled a shiny and royal stone, Sapphire but at the same time reflected onto the sufferings of the girl who he had promised to love till he die. A promise that was broken into enough pieces to be crushed into the powder of agony and indifference and blew right on his face.

”What the ** is he doing here? ” The long haired girl asked her secretary, gritting her teeth with annoyance all over face. ”Maam, Im sorry to not inform you but Mr. Berner is giving up his position to his heir in upcoming days, which is his son Mr. Tyler Berner. Concludingly, he will be attending the board meetings from now on. ” said Asha, the middle aged woman, fixing her glasses.

Asha, who had been working for her dad, since she was her age, was like an elder sister to her. Their interests and opinions were the factors that kept them together despite their age differences.

Asha knew the past that Kelly and Tyler had shared as she was one of them who guided Kelly out of the darkness of betrayal towards the meaningful youth and life that awaited ahead.

Kelly nodded, trying not to excuse her anger take all over her and disgrace the meeting members. She was aware enough to understand the stocks her company was receiving from The Berners enterprise, and the outcomes she would receive if the partnership would be declined. She had to keep her personal life away from her professional one.

”Lets begin, shall we? ” the secretary announced asking everyone to present their opinions on the upcoming project.

The Roy Enterprise was suffering a major loss due to the low participation of the company in the last few months. Kelly was new into the business back then and though the young girl was witty enough, it surely takes time for a person to settle from the personal life traumas and engage themselves into the world of trades. It was kind enough of her Dads business partners to help her take her time and she was glad that her father was admired and respected even after he was gone.

With fully observant to her surroundings, she felt an intense gaze on her, She knew it was him. The gaze that could pierce through her soul and rip it in two parts. She wasn clear about his emotions but was certain about the indifference she had towards him. Avoiding the gaze entire time, the meeting was a success, bringing the projects objective to a definite conclusion.

The crowded room was now getting vacant as the board members left the room with a cheery smile on their face. Kelly was discussing something with Asha, her secretary when a muffled cough from her back caught her attention.

”Can I talk to you for a minute, Kelly? ”, said the fair guy with a lump of hesitation in his throat. ”If its regarding the project then, sure, Mr. Berner. ” the honey skinned girl replied raising her eyebrows at the tall man and motiong her secretary to give them space. The room was now empty with just two people filling up the silence.

The guy took a deep sigh and started, ”Kelly, I know things have not been easy to you. I know that I wasn there when you needed me the most. I was hopeless about the fact that you will never ever forgive me and I know the thin- ” he was interrupted by the green eyed girl in front of him.

”Mr.Berner, firstly, I already enlightened you about the topic I was interested in. Secondly, It would be appreciated if you stop calling me with my first name. Its Miss Roy for you. ” She said as she rolled her eyes at him and left the room with her heels clanking on the white marble floor.

Exiting the conference room, with her heart beating a mile per minute, she tried to restrain herself from any type of emotions. She exhaled as the green eyed girl accepted the bloody fact that she has to face such things on a regular basis now. There was obviously no escape and she had to do this to save her fathers only impression she was left with. The girl took her leave as it was already past 7 and there was no particular task left to do.

She was about to open her cars door when she received a text. It was from her little sister.

From Covey:

”Are you planning to starve me to death? ”

”Dinners ready and you
e not here yet! ”

A sad chuckle left Kellys lips as she read the text knowing at least there was someone who still longed for her arrival at home. At least she had her little sister who was there to light her life up with her bratty yet lovable personality. She sat in the car starting up her engine as she replied the text.

”Well my plan flopped. ”

”But Im OTW ”

As she parked her car at the entrance of the mansion, she noticed another familiar car parked in front of her. It was Iveys. She recognized it. Her thoughts were now clouded with overwhelming emotions as a cheery smile made its way on her naturally pink lips.

”I am so lucky to have her ”, was all she thought as she entered the living area. ”Or maybe not. ” she said as the green eyed girl was met with the atmosphere inside the house.

” IVEY, GIVE ME MY PHONE BACK OR.. ” the 16 year old was running after the blonde girl in order to get her phone back. ”Or else what, huh? ” the blonde said with smug on her face, hiding herself behind the sofa covered with maroon fabric of velvet.

”You both should settle down now, the dinner table is set and Kelly must be here at any moment. ” said an elderly voice which belonged to the head of the servants, Mrs. Mae, who was more like a mother figure to both the girls. ”Not until my phone is back in my hands ”, Covey said as she jumped over the sofa and tried to release her device from the grip of the blonde.

The situation was fun to watch as both the girls despite of their ages tried to strangle the other one but it had to be brought to an end because Kelly was exhausted enough.

”YOU BOTH STOP RIGHT THERE OR I WILL MAKE SURE TO CHOP OFF YOUR LEGS! ” a loud voice echoed through the living area as the girls stopped their actions. Covey took this chance to snatch her phone back from the Blondies grip as she glared at her.

Well, the voice belonged to our one and only soft spoken elderly lady Mrs. Mae. Yes, she sometimes has to act strict whenever the situation goes out of her hands. Girls get wild sometimes. Really wild.

Kelly laughed like a maniac at the whole scenario in front of her as she put her arms around the frail; delicate shoulders of the lady who was a foot shorter than her. ”Im glad to have you with us Mrs. Mae, ” was all she said as she went upstairs to her room still laughing at the defeated faces of the two girls downstairs.

Eventually, she was welcomed with an appetizing smell of the food which made her 100 times hungrier than she was before. She settled down at her usual chair which was next to the chair placed at the head of the table. Her fathers chair it was. Empty now. Yet untouched.

On her right was her hazel eyed sister, ready to dig into the food, plated in front of her. She smiled as she looked at her lovingly and then made a brief eye contact with Ivey seated infront of her. Her smile never leaving her face, as Mrs. Mae served her the dinner.

”So, why were you both quarreling like stray cats over a phone? ” dark haired girl asked as she took her first bite. ”Covey has a crush on this guy from her maths class and she is neither telling me his name nor showing a picture, ” Ivey whined, complaining about her curiosity. Recieving an eye roll from the teen, Kelly mouthed an ”Oh ”.

” Mind your own business, Ivey. Oops! you don have one. LOL, ” the short haired teen laughed at her own comment as she she mocked her sisters best friend.

Ivey glared at her as if she just need a chance alone with and the teen would be dead. And then Ivey would be laughing at her.

Well, outsiders might think of them as some enemies who are thirsty for each others blood but this was their way of expressing love to each other, more like teasing each other until one them dies feeling embarassed. The two girls were so precious to Kelly and both were self aware of the fact.

But somehow, often the two girls end up fighting over the throne of being Kellys favourite. Yes! it was their favorite thing to do. More like a hobby.

”And what brings you here, boo? ” she asked to feed her own curiosity at the sudden uninformed appearance of her best friend.

It wasn that Ivey was not allowed to visit her whenever she wanted. She just wanted to confirm that everything was fine and her best friend was there just to spend some time. Either way, Ivey was welcomed to barge in her house. She would never mind.

”Im here to take you and Covey to a lovely, one week long trip to Greece, ” Ivey exclaimed with a huge smile on her face, making the green eyed girl choke on her water as she coughed.
