I just came back from a weekend at Key Lime Cove with my family. I have a 7 year old boy and a 5 year old girl. We were also with my sister/brother-in-law and their kids which are the same age as ours. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon at 1:00 and were able to check-in early. We were in the waterpark by 2:00 and already had a great time by bedtime the first night! We went to great america on SUnday and the shuttle service was great. They were friendly and fast. It takes less than 5 minutes to get to the park. We then called the shuttle service when we were ready to go back to the hotel for lunch and were able to ride the shuttle-eat lunch- and be back at the park in one hour. The mini fridges in the rooms are nice and we brought a cooler so we saved a little on deli sandwiches for lunch on two days. The restaurants are reasonably priced for a resort.We enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was reasonable and filled us up for a long morning at Great America. Also within walking distance is a Culver's and the Golden Corral Buffet. We ate at the GOlden Corral buffet the first night after waterparking for about 4 hours and then returned for another few hours of swimming berfor bed.On Monday morning we checked out and then spent the day at the waterpark again. They have "funtivities" for the kids-which we really did not take full advantage of while we were there. The kids enjoyed the arcade which was HUGE! The waterpark had something for everyone- a basketball pool which the boys really loved-a huge whirlpool, the kiddie pool area had three fun little slides my daughter enjoyed while I relaxed in the pool and watched-4 large water slides and the vortex which I went on 3 times with my 7 year old son. I even had a chance to ride the lazy river a few times(alone) while my kids were with my husband. When you get tired of one area there is definitely enough to change us your activity. We had such a great time! This summer we skipped our usual DIsney trip due to financial reasons so we really still wanted to try to get some kind of vacation. We had such a great time that we are returning once more before summer is over with the grandparents and another niece. This time we are staying for three nights and trying to take advantage of more of the free activities for the kids. I definitely recommend this-We had a package with free great america tickets the first time. The next trip we just booked today is at 159.00/night for 2 queen beds and a sofa bed and that comes with 20.00 food/beverage credit each day and 5.00 in tokens.
It is an hour drive for us so we will definitely be returning frequently.

So glad you all got to enjoy it! I wish we had something like that here in Nashvegas.
