Did you know that a cell phone can actually make phone calls?Yeah, I have to say that using the Palm Pre Plus as an actual phone makes up only a small percentage of my use.
So what do I use the phone for?
Social Networking
I am constantly on the go between working outside the home and two kids who are both in school. Not to mention dance classes and ice skating lessons. I find that I often have five minutes here or twenty minutes there when I am just sitting there waiting.
I make the most of that time by using apps to socialize with my friends. How can you socialize on your Palm Pre Plus, you ask? Twitter, Facebook, and e-mail are all easy to use on the phone.
With the Facebook app you can see what your friends are up to and post your own status updates on the fly. The qwerty keyboard makes it pretty easy to type in your updates.
If you are addicted to Twitter like I am, you can use an app like TweeFree on the Palm Pre Plus.
You can see the timeline, messages written to you, direct messages, and even search for keywords like #VerizonPalmPrePlus.
And I downloaded the Gmail app to check my e-mail. I have this dream of "zero inbox" (going through e-mails so that your inbox is empty) and spending a few minutes here and there to read, answer, or trash e-mails keeps me on top of things.
And More!
If social networking isn't enough to occupy your time, how about a game. I'm currently going through physical therapy and have appointments three times a week. For 15 minutes of each session I'm hooked up to a machine. Instead of staring blankly at the ceiling or reading magazines that are, well, old news, I've been using the phone to play Sudoku. Yes, there's even a free app for that! I also have People Magazine and Newsweek apps on the phone to keep up to date on current events and pop culture.
