My son loves anything with wheels. Cars, trains, and trucks. We have our fair share of wooden toys, but it seems like there is also a lot of plastic. I try to cull the number of plastic toys, but there is one brand of plastic toys that I welcome into our home: Green Toys. Why do I like Green Toys? Because they are made from recycled milk jugs. How cool is that?
They are non-toxic. They don't contain lead, phthalates, or BPA.
They are also American made and eco-friendly. Being made in California means they aren't being shipped half way across the world to get to you.
And their packaging? Recycled cardboard with no twist ties or cellophane or plastic. You can open the box and take the toy right out. Brilliant! (I hate it when it takes 10 minutes to take a toy out and you feel like you are risking life and limb.)
Our Green Toys Tea Set gets played with quite a lot. And even with constant playtime, it still looks as good as new. I am so impressed with the quality of the set and with the solidness of each piece. (Read my review of the Green Toys Tea Set.)
So when I saw the Green Toys trucks, I knew my son needed one.
Green Toys sent us the Recycling Truck
The two-toned green truck has sorting bins on each side. You can cut "recyclables" from the box (made from recycled paper) which your children can insert into the slots. You can even turn it into a matching game.
My son loves the lift gate on the back of the truck. He puts all sort of things inside and then scoots it around the living room floor.
What surprised me was that my five-year-old daughter plays with the truck just as much as my preschool boy.
Green Toys also makes a Dump TruckI have been so impressed with the quality of the Green Toys that we have that I would definitely recommend them.
