In the Tub: Fairy Tales Hair Care

On about the 6th or 7th day of kindergarten, we got the dreaded notice: "Your child has been exposed to head lice ... " Naturally, I freaked. Then I got on the phone to complain to my mother. She told me that at her hair salon, the stylists swore by Rosemary Repel shampoo from Fairy Tales Hair Care. You better believe I got online in a New York minute and ordered some.

We've been using it ever since (almost two years now) and we've had nary a louse in our house. Coincidence? Who knows. You can't prove a negative. But my kids are in school or group care every day, so I'm not willing to take the risk and give this stuff up. Besides, it smells amazing. It is pricey, so we don't use it every day. Maybe once a week or so, or more often if we get one of those scary Lice Notices. I also subscribe to the Fairy Tales e-newsletter, and it always comes with discount codes.

Fairy Tales products use organic ingredients, and are not tested on animals. Plus, did I mention about the smell? You will want to sniff your children's heads for hours at a time.

Mayberry Mom swears her head was not itching as she wrote this. She also once had a great babysitter named Rosemary.
