Hidden Valley: Love Your Veggies!

Hidden Valley Ranch dressing is a staple in our house for two reasons. First, my kids love veggies and they love dipping them in ranch dressing. Second, Hidden Valley Ranch dressing is very low in carbs and is perfect to serve to my diabetic daughter, whether as dip for her carrots or as dressing for her salads.

Hidden Valley has launched a campaign called Love Your Veggies. A study found that kids eat 23% more veggies when they are served with ranch dressing. I can attest to that!

The Love Your Veggies campaign includes a website with a ton of information to teach parents how to eat healthy and buy and grow the best vegetables. They also have a school grant program to provide students better access to fresh produce. The website includes recipes and even advice from celebrity chef Art Smith (who I have seen on Oprah). And what mom doesn't appreciate free downloads and kids activities?

They are hosting a great contest right now. They are asking moms to submit ideas about a community garden. Ten winners will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Chicago for classes on selecting and cooking great vegetable dishes, dinner at Art Smith's restaurant Table Fifty-two, pampering (can I get some of that?), and $5000 to create or maintain a garden in their community.

Thanks go to Mom Central for tipping us off about the great contest and reminding us to try to get more veggies on our children's dinner plates.
