Ladies, lets talk. We all know that during pregnancy you don't usually feel like you have enough energy to exercise. Once you become a mom, and your body becomes your own again, even if you really want to work out, it can be a struggle to carve out the time for yourself.
But let's say you've gotten your energy levels back and you have the iPod charged and the jogging stroller ready to go- you might find that the exercise clothing you wore before doesn't quite fit the way it used to. In fact you may find unflattering work out wear that makes you want to run- away from the mirror!
We have good news for you thanks to Lisa Welch and Julie Hill, the creators of BornFit.
When Welch became pregnant she made a commitment to continue incorporating fitness and health into her lifestyle. The problem was that athletic clothing available for pregnant women was entirely inappropriate for a true athlete. As Welch recalls, "Velour sweats were just not the right answer to a good fitness routine." Amen sister.
BornFit focuses on inspiring mothers to remain active throughout all stages of their life. Their unique styles of moisture-wicking tops and bottoms are known for their 'relaxed fit' and their 'maternity collection'. BornFit offers women a chance to exercise in clothing perfectly suited to their changing bodies.

Before I was pregnant I ran but today I am mostly walking, trying to gear up to start jogging again. I know it takes time, but I was sadly disappointed that most of my pre-baby workout gear doesn't fit. My hips are wider, my stomach rounder and my breastfeeding assetts are testing even the stretchiest of spandex. Right on time, I was able to sample some pieces from the Born Fit line. Specifically the Torrey's Full Zip jacket and the Crestone Pant. Both pieces were lightweight, comfortable and fit beautifully.
High quality was evident in both the jacket and the pants- the seams of the jacket make for flattering accents and there was ample room up top while still having a slimming shape. There are lots of pockets (including a kangaroo pocket in the back) for everything you need to carry around. Even if out for a walk I still need tissues, my iPod, my phone, etc. and I was able to have everything accessible conveniently and comfortably.
The pants may just be the softest workout pants I have ever tried on. I know they are designed to make you want to exercise but I want to wear them ALL the time. They feature a comfortable stretch band around the waist and a hidden drawstring for added stability. My biggest problem with pants right now (almost three months post-partum) is that to accommodate my not-at-all-flat tummy I have to go up in size which means my pants are literally dragging on the ground. This was not the case with BornFit. The pants I received fit perfectly- the medium is not too tight or too long- they are just right.
This mompreneur duo provides a "resource" page on its website for moms, including illustrations and photos of expecting moms, experienced moms and new moms wearing the garments. In other words, you can see models that look like real women. How refreshing is that?

Sounds like a really great site! I'm checking it out for sure. My energy level has never been the same!
I actually have the Torrey's Full Zip Jacket and the Evans Capri(relaxed fit) and they are both great. I wear them on walks, to the gym and playing with my kids. The capris are very comfortable, especially around my waist. The jacket has plenty of pockets for all my "gadgets". I really like the clothes from Bornfit.
Cool interview. I've gotten some of their press releases but haven't checked them out yet. Now I shall. As for me, I'm promoting lucy activewear on my site. They've got a Breast Cancer Awareness program running and they are giving away two tees on my blog. Here's the link:

To fix: the first BornFit link took me to an error page (looks like you've got two URLs run together).
