My daughter has created an alter ego that is a super hero. She even has a nickname and the funny thing is that a lot of grown ups call her by her super hero name.I know most kids love playing super hero and donning capes from time to time. But this is beyond occasional in our house. She wears her Little Capers shirt all. the. time.
I'm not kidding. There are weeks that I can't get it off of her. She wears it with the cape. Without the cape. To bed. To the store. To school. Everywhere. It's a wonder I manage to pry it off of her to wash it!
When my daughter receives an invitation to a birthday party, she automatically asks if we can give a super hero cape (and not just any, it has to be a Little Capers just like hers). We have given several as gifts to lucky cousins.
What I love is that the capes are not commercialized, they are non-violent, and the children can make up their own persona, just as my daughter has.
Whereas the Little Capers attach with tabs of velcro to the t-shirt, the Big Capes are stand-alone capes. They attach at the neck with velcro to be worn over any outfit (or nothing at all if the case may be!). No more having to pry the shirt off of my daughter to wash it while she naps.
And since this cape is bigger, it will fit bigger kids, too. I'd say the 4-8 year old set, maybe older.
Of course I had to get the pink lightening cape for my daughter. Her t-shirt is the red star hero.
Short-sleeved t-shirts with capes are $35-36.
Many of the long-sleeved t-shirts with capes are currently on sale. (Can you say Christmas in July?)
And Big Capes are $23.
They are in made in a non-sweatshop environment in the USA.
