Sassy Earth Brights

I have added a new gift to my baby shower repertoire: The Sassy Earth Brights baby toys.

You may know Sassy for their brightly-colored plastic toys or teething rings and pacifiers. But did you know that they have a line of wooden toys?

I recently spotted the rattles at a local specialty toy store and bought two of the 'Lil Twig Rattles, one as a baby shower gift and one for my own baby. Then when I found out a friend was pregnant with a girl (they already have two boys), I gave her the Cuddle Doll, which has a soft lavender scent.

At $6-10 each, Sassy Earth Brights are perfect for tucking into a baby shower gift basket or when meeting a new baby. Or for giving to your own little one just because.

I like that they are easy to grasp and have a variety of textures for little hands to explore. They are inspired by nature. And in a sea of plastic rattles and keys for babies, these are a good wooden option.

Oh, and did I mention that no batteries are required!

(From the company:)

Sassy introduces Earth Brights, a new line of infant development toys offering babies from birth to 24 months the warmth, comfort and pleasure of wooden toys with brightly colored and textured fabrics to see and touch, soothing scents to smell and soft sounds to hear.

Available at Babies 'R Us, specialty toy stores, and of course online at Sassy.

WIN IT: One lucky Full Mommy reader will win a four-piece Sassy Earth Brights gift set ($25). The toys in the set are: Wooden Dove, ‘Lil Twig, Cherry Tree Rattle and Happy Caterpillar rattle.

To enter, leave a comment here by 11:59 PM (EST), Sunday, March 23, 2008 (anonymous comments with no e-mail are not valid entries). If you've already given these to a little one, let us know what you think. Winners will be notified by e-mail and announced on Prizey. See our Tips For Winning for further entry information. Open to residents of US and Canada.

(This was written by Leeanthro who can be read at Soy is the New Black where she dishes about family, food, foraging, and frivolity. While many of the products she discusses are sold only through boutique or specialty stores, some are widely available at national stores and online.)
