Clorox Green Works

There's a new line of environmentally friendly cleaners in town with a name you wouldn't have thought of: Clorox.

Clorox has come out with a full line of cleaning products called Green Works that are friendly not only to the environment, but also to your wallet. When I sought these out at my local Target, I was happy to see these prices just above traditional (read: horrible, toxic) cleaners, but below another national green brand. The price difference was about 30 cents more, which I think is reasonable on even the tightest budget.

The line of natural cleaning products includes five products: glass & surface, all-purpose, toilet bowl, dilutable, and bathroom cleaners.

Clorox boasts that Green Works

• Work as well as traditional cleaners
• Are made from plant- and mineral-based ingredients
• Use biodegradable ingredients
• Are never test on animals

They have a subtle citrus smell. I am quite sensitive to fragrance, especially artificial ones. The smell of vinegar in natural cleaning products even turns my stomach (is that a hold-over from pregnancy?). The subtle scent of these products didn't seem to affect my allergies or my stomach.

I am happy to see environmentally-friendly cleaning products that are easily accessible to the general public. I hope that people who normally buy traditional cleaners see these on store shelves and give them a try.
